CFC staff will share the latest information on several high-priority issues, answer questions, and provide guidance on actions you can take in the coming year to advocate for our rivers and streams.\n\n\n\nCovered topics will include:\n\n\n\n\nThe highly contaminated Smurfit-Stone pulp mill site on the banks of the Clark Fork River near Frenchtown\n\n\n\nThe proposed rare earth element mine on Sheep Creek, at the pristine headwaters of the Bitterroot River\n\n\n\nMontana’s “exempt well loophole,” which developers continue to abuse, resulting in decreased streamflows and negative impacts on groundwater levels\n\n\n\nMontana’s harmful decision to shift from numeric to narrative nutrient standards\n\n\n\n\nThe Clark Fork Coalition’s Water Watchdogs Program offers concerned communities across the watershed a chance to actively shape Montana’s water decisions.
