Cleanup Challenge Begins

When

Sunday, April 22 to Thursday, May 31
12:00 am

Let’s keep the cleanup momentum going after this year’s Clark Fork River Cleanup! REI and the Clark Fork Coalition are teaming up to bring you the 2018 Cleanup Challenge: Starting after the Cleanup on April 21st, join the Cleanup Challenge to see how much trash you can pick up from the river, local trails, or your neighborhood. Challenge participants will submit pictures of the trash they cleaned up and get rewards for participating!

It’s easy, it’s fun, and it’s rewarding! Stop by the Clark Fork Coalition office (140 S. 4th St W) for cleanup supplies, like garbage bags and latex gloves.

Cleanup Challenge Instructions

Step 1: Get started by texting TRASHY to 33222 (this puts you on CFC’s TrashLine, a text alert system for reporting and responding to river cleanup needs throughout the summer. You can unsubscribe from this messaging system at any time).

Step 2: Pick up trash! When you’re out on the trails, the river, or your neighborhood and you spot some trash, pick it up! Be prepared when you head out by bringing a garbage bag along with you.

Step 3: Snap a pic of the trash, or of you picking up the trash and text it to us at 33222 (you must be signed up first. See Step 1). Send it along with your first name and last initial, so we can keep track of how much trash you’re picking up, so you can win prizes!

Step 4: Party! Come to the Cleanup Challenge Finale Party (date and location TBA) to pick up your participation prize, get entered into a raffle to win a REI Flash18 backpack, eat pizza, and meet other Cleanup Challenge champs!
