Earth Day Celebration and River Cleanup
The Clark Fork River Cleanup is an annual tradition when the community comes together to clean trash along the river banks before spring runoff and high water hits. Hundreds of people–including individuals, families, friends, schools, and business teams–join together for a good cause and celebrate the river we love and respect.
The 2023 Clark Fork River cleanup is back in person for the first time since 2019! We’re so excited to see you at Caras Park on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The morning will kick off with an Earth Day celebration and a cleanup of the downtown river corridor followed by a free BBQ lunch!
DIY Cleanup
We’ve had three successful years hosting a popular DIY cleanup. Covering over 180 miles of river and collecting mountains of trash, the DIY river cleanup has an incredibly positive impact on the river’s health. We will continue to support a DIY cleanup option for areas outside the downtown corridor from April 23 – 26, 2023. Stop by our offices for supplies, maps, and tips for a successful day helping the river.
Sponsor the Cleanup!
We are incredibly grateful to the sponsors who help support this event and to all the volunteers who show up.
The annual Clark Fork River Cleanup is a fantastic opportunity for community-fueled river service and remains one of western Montana’s most popular volunteer events. Every year the cleanup brings hundreds of families, friends, community groups, and people of all stripes together to give back to the river they love.
The Clark Fork River Cleanup sponsors below make all of this possible by providing gloves, bags, and other supplies, signage, a hearty lunch for our intrepid river stewards, and the planning, logistics support, and river safety services that make the event complete.
Thank you to these businesses for sponsoring!
