Central Clark Fork Watershed Restoration Plan Open House
The Clark Fork Coalition (CFC) invites community members, landowners, and watershed partners to the Central Clark Fork Watershed Restoration Plan (WRP) Open House on Friday, August 8, from 2:00–4:00 PM at the Confluence Center (119 W Main Street, Missoula) or online via Zoom.
The Central Clark Fork WRP is a vital planning tool designed to guide on-the-ground restoration in one of the last unplanned reaches of the Clark Fork River. In 2020, local partners helped shape the original draft, but after a pause, the effort is gaining new momentum.
Now, with renewed support from Dr. Vicki Watson, the Western Montana Conservation Commission, and Montana DEQ, CFC is restarting the planning process ahead of formal funding expected this fall. This open house is the first step in reconnecting with past participants, updating the community on progress, and inviting fresh input to shape the path forward.
The Open House is an informal opportunity to revisit past work, share current updates, and begin charting next steps together. Attendees will learn how the WRP will improve water quality and ecological health across the watershed—and how they can get involved in project planning and implementation. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided at the in-person gathering.
