Join the Clark Fork Coalition and the Montana Natural History Center in celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the Milltown Dam removal at March’s Naturalist Trivia Night at MNHC! Questions will focus on the Clark Fork watershed, Superfund cleanup, and naturalist tidbits from ten years ago. You can come with a team or join other friendly naturalists when you arrive. Come play with us and celebrate the removal of the dam and the return of two mighty rivers flowing together freely.

Ten years ago, the Clark Fork watershed witnessed a historic turn. For 100 years, Milltown Dam blocked the confluence of the Clark Fork and Blackfoot rivers, trapping toxic sediment that washed downstream from the mines in Butte and contaminated local drinking water. Then, in 2008, after a decades long campaign, thousands of public comments, and the unified efforts of concerned citizens, government agencies and nonprofits across the watershed, the dam was removed!
