Thank you, river stewards!

May 4, 2021

With your help, the 2021 Clark Fork River Cleanup
was a HUGE success!

The 2021 Clark Fork River Cleanup is in the books, and thanks to you, it was one of the most impactful river cleanups we’ve ever hosted!

During one amazing week in April HUNDREDS of you volunteered (including nearly 80 teams) to cover more than 180 MILES of the Clark Fork River and its tributaries to help keep these irreplaceable rivers and streams healthy and clean. Wow!

The pandemic-driven “DIY” format this year didn’t phase you one bit. You set out by boat, bike, and foot; you hauled bags and cans and pipes and tires; you dug into the muck, braved thorns and weeds, donned boots and gloves and gear, and together collected MOUNTAINS of trash before it could be swept away by spring runoff.

Whether you joined a cleanup crew of 50, or were a river hero team of one, know that you made a big difference for the Clark Fork watershed, and we are extremely grateful.

Special thanks to everyone who sent cleanup reports and photos. (Check out some of your great photos here!) We loved seeing your smiling faces and hearing about your day on the river. We also appreciate the updates you provided on areas still in need of some TLC and will be following up to take care of those sites soon.

We sure hope that we’ll be able to meet in person again for the next Clark Fork River Cleanup, but it’s great to know that, no matter what, the river is in excellent hands, thanks to YOU!
